Hello Tumblies!!!

Sorry I’ve been neglecting you, you deserve better than this.

Here is my offering: Welcome home dinner for me:

-Beautiful Seafood Risotto and scallops (my brother made homemade fish stock, WTF)

-My brother’s bday gift to me; Nutella Cheesecake/Brownie bars

-My bday gift to my brother;Lemon/Basil/Strawberry cupcakes, filled with Raspberry preserves and fresh strawberries, topped with a basil-infused whipped cream-marscapone topping..and and a lil’ sugared strawberry

It’s Strawberry season in FL if you haven’t noticed

Here’s the Cupcake recipe (sans filling and topping, I made those guys up…Also to the recipe add lemon juice and basil to the chopped strawberries):

Happy belated birthday to Lindsay!!

I found a rip-off recipe of the “Bubble room” red velvet.

The taste was delicious but the texture was a bit crumby

Still amazing though, but I remember why I only have red velvet about once a year

Found another lil’ gem when I was cleaning out my phone-photos

Had some scrumptious Greek food on a recent trip to Tarpon Springs.

I couldn’t decide what I wanted so I got that really expensive plate with EVERYTHING on it.

And it was worth it

(although the 7 dollar Sangria wasn’t)

This was going to be an innocent post about a Cheesesteak joint in Hudson (which was very tasty) until I read one of the comments on Yelp…

This sums up my town…

“I had a cheese steak here a few weeks ago. I can not have one of these very often cause I have had 3 heart attacks. It was simply the best cheese steak I have had south and I mean way south of Philly!!!!! It was loaded with steak and cheese and onions and the price was right!!!!!!!”

HOT CHOCOLATE

Basic recipe: Whole milk, Cream, A little sugar, Vanilla and a mixture of Dark and Milk Choc.

Fresh whipped cream, chocolate bits and drizzle of caramel sauce on top.

A little disappointed with this year's line up
Besides Dianne Reeves I’m not really familiar with a lot of these acts (Kevin Eubanks doesn’t count, unless he can prove me wrong)

Looks like a lot of these are local acts, which is good on one hand for the performers themselves, but in past years the festival has brought BIG names to this town it doesn’t usually see. (Bill Evans trio! Jane Monheit!)

Anyone who hasn’t been to the Clearwater Jazz Festival you MUST check it out.

It’s right by the water, it’s usually quite nice and cool, local vendors and drinks and OH YEAH IT’S FREE

You may need to wade through some shitty “smooth jazz” acts but it’s worth it if you enjoy live music.
