I’m home and in cleansing mode, so no desserts this week…But! I’m starting a new show and maybe after rehearsals are done in 2 weeks I’ll make myself a treat. God, not eating everything I want sucks
Hello Tumblies!!!
Sorry I’ve been neglecting you, you deserve better than this.
Here is my offering: Welcome home dinner for me:
-Beautiful Seafood Risotto and scallops (my brother made homemade fish stock, WTF)
-My brother’s bday gift to me; Nutella Cheesecake/Brownie bars
-My bday gift to my brother;Lemon/Basil/Strawberry cupcakes, filled with Raspberry preserves and fresh strawberries, topped with a basil-infused whipped cream-marscapone topping..and and a lil’ sugared strawberry
It’s Strawberry season in FL if you haven’t noticed
Here’s the Cupcake recipe (sans filling and topping, I made those guys up…Also to the recipe add lemon juice and basil to the chopped strawberries):
Happy belated birthday to Lindsay!!
I found a rip-off recipe of the “Bubble room” red velvet.
The taste was delicious but the texture was a bit crumby
Still amazing though, but I remember why I only have red velvet about once a year
SO MUCH OIL
Some kind of trifle…?
I stole the idea from beautiful Ina who made some espresso mousse cake thing with cookies and marscapone cheese.
The whipped cream is basil infused and mixed with cream cheese to thicken (next time, when I have the time and money to buy it, I will use the marscapone)
And the chocolate chip cookies are of my own creation, with a hint of almond extract and chunky pecans
Oh and by the way, IT WAS DELICIOUS
This only sat for tops 2 hours, I can’t even begin to imagine what it would taste like having sat overnight…guess I’ll have to tell you guys tomorrow :)
It’s a Christmas miracle, I didn’t screw up the Buche de Noel! (Always a happy surprise when trying a new recipe)
Have a happy and food filled holiday to all who are celebrating today and to everyone else, have a happy and food filled normal day!
Also pictured, last tray of rainbow cookies I’m making in the year 2012!
In the midst of a baking bonanza this evening, I popped out some chocolate chip cookie men. (too tired to try a new gingerbread recipe)
Tomorrow…the Buche de Noel! ho ho hoooeeee
